GREENSBORO — Barbara Reed Watkins earned her wings on Friday, July 12, 2013 after a long battle with heart and kidney disease.

Services will be held at Guilford Memorial Park on Monday July 15, 2013 at 2:00 with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Hanes Lineberry on Vanstory Street from 12:30 to 1:30.

Barbara was born in Newton, N.C. to the late Joe and Lucille Reed. Barbara was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church and was a long time employee of Guilford Mills where she was a cloth inspector.

She leaves behind her husband Halton Elwood Watkins; two children James Wilson Jr. and fiancé Melissa Cox, of Stokesdale and Pamela Combo of Thomasville; brother, Mike Reed of Brown Summit, sister Carolyn Reed Overby and spouse Micheal VanHerpen of Greensboro, three grandchildren, Olivia Combo, Dalton Wilson and Bradley Cox, nephews Joe Reed and Aaron May and niece Melissa Bouresslan as well as one grand-nephew Nicholas Bolden and one grand-niece Hailey Griffith who affectionately refer to her as Nana B. She also leaves behind a long list of friends whom she has always treated like family.
