AGED MINISTER DIES THURSDAY
Rev. J. J. Excell Passes Away at Home After Long Illness.
The Rev. J. J. Excell, retired minister, died at 3.20 o'clock Thursday morning at his home on West North street, after a long illness. He had been ill for over a year, but was confined to bed only a little over a month. Death was due to bladder trouble, and he suffered much pain. Rev. Excell would have been 86 years old in October. While the aged man lay dead in his home Thursday afternoon, his daughter, Mrs. Lillian Marsh, was being placed in her grave at Chautauqua, N. Y. The daughter died late Monday. Word of her death was received here Tuesday, but the father was so seriously ill that he was told nothing of her passing away, and died in ignorance that she had preceded him to the world beyond. He was an active minister for more than 45 years. Rev. Excell was thrice married and is survived by his third wife and three children, all born during the period of his second marriage. They are as follows: Cecile, of Chautauqua, N. Y., Mrs. Lynn, of Chautauqua, and the E. O. Excell, noted musician, of East Brady, Pa.-Wooster News.
