BARBOURVILLE, Ky.--Services for Alice Flanary Garland, 92, of Clinton, formerly of London and Holmes Mill, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hopper Funeral Home in Barbourville. The Rev. Terry Lester will officiate, and burial will be in Barbourville Cemetery.
Mrs. Garland died at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Parkway Regional Hospital.
She was a member of London First Baptist Church where she was a member of the adult ladies Sunday School class and the Women's Missionary Society. She was a school teacher and member of the London Eastern Star and London Gideon Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Byassee of Clinton and Ann Sowders of Lexington; one sister, Glessie Shuler of Keokee, Va.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Garland; her stepmother, Sarah Mullins Flanary; one brother; and two sisters. Her parents were A.M. "Judge" and Martha Clarkston Flanary.
