Sadly, we announce that Maurice passed away on December 1, 2012 in Florida. Formerly from Gary and Merrillville, he was born April 15, 1916 to Joseph and Margaret Massa in Michigan. He married Frances (Aiello) 10 Jun 1939, and she preceded him in death in 1977. They had three children, Maurice Massa Jr. (late Janice), Carol Vale and Jeffrey (Robin) Massa. He was a wonderful father, Papa, and friend to all. Moe was a Navy Veteran WWII and played second base on the Great Lakes team. An avid sportsman, loving bowling, fishing, and golf. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews; wife, Georgie; loving sister, Rosemary "Babe" Massa; and son-in-law, Roy Vale. He was preceded in death by grandson, Andrew, five brothers, and five sisters. He was dearly loved and will be missed.
