JOHN H SHUTT, NATIVE OF GARRETT, IS DEAD

JOHN H SHUTT, 54, a native of Garrett died unexpectedly Monday at 10:30 am at Aurora Colorado where he had resided for the past six months.

He was a maintenance man for several apartment buildings in that city. It is reported he became ill suddenly while working and asked for a doctor. He died before help could arrive of a heart ailment.

The body was taken to the DO McComb Funeral Home in Fort Wayne where final rites will be held Friday at 2 pm. The Rev Bryant Howard will officiate and burial will follow in Cedar Chapel cemetery southeast of Garrett.

Mr Shutt was born near Garrett, a son of the late Mr and Mrs Scudder Shutt. He and his family had resided for 30 years at Alexander Illinois before moving to Aurora Colorado.

Surviving are the wife, Violet; two daughters, Mrs Peter E Jones of Miami Springs Florida, and Mrs Otis Nutgrass of Jacksonville Illinois; three sons, Bill D of Fort Wayne, Johnny A of Goldsboro NC, and Dannie W of Jacksonville Illinois; a sister, Miss Esther Shutt, who works and resides at the Irene Byron hospital near Fort Wayne; four brothers, Edward of near Garrett, Alouis of New Castle, Victor of Pontiac Michigan, and Lester of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren.

John Shutt was born in the house where his brother, Edward, now lives.
