SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT M.E. CHURCH
The death of Mrs. Mary Shutt, wife of Scudder E. Shutt, took place at her home two miles southeast of Garrett in Keyser township Thursday morning at 7:30 o'clock.
Mrs. Shutt had been in poor health since last spring from heart disease and high blood pressure and her condition became critical Monday night. The body was removed to the Geo. W. Iler Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock DST at the Garrett M.E. Church. The Rev. Wm. T. Arnold will officiate and burial will be made in Cedar Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Shutt was sixty-three years of age, having been born Feb. 10, 1875, in Smithfield Township near Waterloo. Her maiden name was Shoudel. She and Mr. Shutt were married Feb. 7, 1899, and lived at Woodburn and Spencerville before locating on the Keyser Township farm in 1906.
Surviving besides the widower are six children, Alouis J. Shutt of New Castle, Ind., Edward, Lester and Esther at home, and John and Victor Shutt of Alexander, Ill.; one brother, Michael Shoudel of Jackson Township; four sisters, Miss Tilly Shoudel and Mrs. John H. Schunk of South Franklin Street, Garrett, Mrs. Frank Janorschke of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Lena Wetoskey of Avilla; and nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Shutt was a member of the Garrett M.E. Church.
