Albert A. Hinman, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of this city died at his home 327 Jackson street early Sunday morning. For many weeks Mr. Hinman has been rapidly failing and his death although not unexpected will come as a shock to his host of friends in this city. Mrs. A. A. Hinman, his wife, died last November and since that time he has been confined to his home.


Mr. Hinman was born at Derby Sine, December 16, 1829. Ho acquired a common school education in his native town and early In the fifties migrated to this state. On February 24, 1857 he was married to Miss Charlotte M. Pinney at Bristol, Wis., and shortly afterward removed to this city where he has since resided.


Mr. Hinman was the father of two sons, Jay A. and Edward D.,both of whom are living In this city. E. S. Hinman is at present city comptroller and Jay A. Hinman Is a prominent young businessman. Two sisters and a brother, Mr, E. D. Hinman of Pomona, California, Mrs. Lydia Keeler of Auburn, California and Mrs. Helen E. Dwelle, of Northwood, Iowa also survive.


OLD TIME RAILROAD MAN.

For over forty years Mr. Hinman was in the employ of the C. & N. W. Ry. Co. and shortly over a year ago he was retired on a pension as roadmaster of this division of the road. Mr. Hinman became prominent for his great ability In clearing up wrecks on the road.


He was past master in the local lodge No. 27 of Masons and grand patron of the order of the Eastern Star for Wisconsin. Mr. Hinman was made a mason In the Cleveland lodge In Chicago in 1865. It has been said that no lodge can produce an officer more worthy of official distinction or possessing in a more marked degree the qualifications requisite for positions of honor and responsibility than was the deceased.


Mr. Hinman was a man of extensive reading and wide observation, with a profession which gave him more than ordinary opportunity for the study of men which caused him to adapt himself to any class of society with which he came In contact The kindly expression of his face was an Index to good nature and honorable character. Mr. Hinman was always greatly interested in the lodges of which he was a member and carefully watched their workings.


The funeral of the deceased will be held from the Masonic Temple Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock and will be in charge of the lodge of which he was a member. The religious services will be conducted by Rev. E. H. Smith of the First Congregational church and Rev. F. H. York of St. John's Universalist church. The remains will lie in state at the Temple from 10 a. m.. Wednesday until the hour of the funeral. The pallbearers have not yet been selected.
