TROY (GNS) – W. Frank Absher, 74, lifelong Wathena resident, died Saturday in a St. Joe hospital. He retired 14 years ago as an employee of Swift and Co. at St. Joe.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Wathena with the Rev. Kerry Gage officiating. Burial will be in Bellemont cemetery at Wathena with Masonic services.
Mr. Absher was a member of the First Baptist church at Wathena and had served as a deacon for 26 years. He also was a member of Wathena Lodge No.64 AF & AM.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Absher, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Guy C. (Melba) Lipira, St. Joe; a son, Bill Absher, St. Joe; a sister, Mrs. Mina McHugh, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Wilbur Absher, Wathena and five grandchildren.
The body is at the Harman Mortuary at Wathena.
