Mrs. Ruth Higginbotham Blackwood, of Augusta and formerly of Atlanta, died January 24, 2004. She was the wife of the late Claude Fletcher Blackwood.

Survived by daughter, Mrs. Kay Blackwood (E. J. Doby, Jr.) Doby, Augusta; son, Joe A. (Linda) Blackwood, Cumming; grandchildren, Edward Lee (Nancy) Doby, Augusta; Brent A. Blackwood, Oxford, AL; great grandchildren, Edward Jacob Doby and Jessica Ann Doby; sister, Alice Key, Anniston, AL; brother, Ralph Higgingbotham, Jacksonville, AL; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services Tuesday, January 27, Cliftondale United Methodist Church, 1 p.m., In state 12 noon, Rev. Sally Oakes and Rev. Terry DeLand officiating. Interment, Highland Cemetery in Anniston, AL at 3:30 CST.
