Silas McCosh Dies From Heart Attack

Silas J. McCosh, 62, of near St. Johns, south of Garrett, died at his home at 8:15 a.m. Saturday of a heart attack. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for three years.

The body was taken to the McKee funeral home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Joseph Ferguson of Auburn officiating. Graveside military rites will be performed at Cedar Chapel cemetery south of Garrett by the Garrett American Legion Post.

Mr. McCosh was born Sept. 14, 1899, near Auburn, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James McCosh, and lived in this area all of his life. He and Marceile B. Housel were married in Auburn in 1926. Mr.

McCosh was a World War I veteran.

He retired from his job as a machinist with Warner Automotive Parts Division in 1959 due to ill health.

Mr. McCosh was a member of Aaron Scisinger Post of the American Legion at Garrett and the 40 et 8.

Surviving are the wife; the mother of 113 Pearl street, Auburn; two sons, James, at home, and Paul of 214 East High street, Garrett; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Surfus and Mrs. Donald Gall of R. 1, Garrett; a brother, Paul of Three Rivers, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.
