A double funeral for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beardsley, whose deaths were noted in these columns last week, was held from the home in South Main street last Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Gordon Loomis officiating.
Leona Beardsley was born in Belvidere, Allegany county on July 28, 1856, the daughter of Lafayette and Cordelia Hildreth Redfield. William Henry Beardsley was born at Hume, Allegany County, July 11, 1854, the son of Willis and Lavantia Caner Beardsley.
They were united in marriage at Mills Mills on Thanksgiving Day, 1877. Their early married life was spent in that vicinity and in 1901 they moved to their late home in this village.
Four sons survive, Warren D., of Flint, Michigan, DeForrest R. of Pleasantville, New Jersey, George H. and Carrington O. of Castile, NY.
Mrs. Beardsley is survived by 2 sisters, Velma and Retta Redfield of Perry, NY and a brother, Charles Redfield of Castile.
Mr. Beardsley leaves 2 brothers, Darius of Dunkirk, NY and Reuben of Pike, NY and a sister, Mrs. Clarissa Meyers of Pike.
Internment was in East Koy Cemetery.
