She was born February 16, 1924 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Harley V. and Callie Dealle Watkins. She was married to Richard Lavigne on May 3, 1959 and worked as a hairdresser for 35 years. She was especially proud of celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary earlier this month. Juanita was an active member of Community Chapel in Somerville and considered the Church as her second family. Instead of being called Juanita, she was known as "Mimi" to everyone, even her adult friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Richard Lavigne of Somerville; a daughter Toi Dawn McAdoo and her friend Terry of Livingston; a brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Marty Watkins of McAllen; two grandchildren, Stephen and Tiffny Mikeska of Somerville and Amber and Robert Ramos of Rockdale; three great-grandchildren, Justin Mikeska of Somerville, Ethan Mikeska of Rockdale and Paloma Ramos of Rockdale; along with numerous other relatives.
Serving as pallbearers are: Justin Mikeska, Ethan Mikeska, Stephen Mikeska, Robert Ramos, Terry Hamilton, and Danny Wusterhausen.
