He was a member of the following organizations: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, The Guardsman, Inc., The Wolves, 100 Blackmen of Savannah, The Coastal Football Officials Association, and he was the past Southern Regional Director of the Pan-Hellenic Council, A.P.WA., S.W.A.N.A.
Survivors: his devoted wife, Barbara G. Magwood; two sons, Horace Magwood, III (Mary) of Savannah and Brian L. Magwood of Lithonia; sisters: Genoris Washington, Kay Calhoun-Fields, (Miller), and Ruth C. Wright (Tony, Sr.)
