Herschel Parks Chaney, 71, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, May 6, 1973 in Baylor hospital, Dallas. He had been ill nine months and in the hospital two weeks.
Services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Cooper-Sorrells chapel in Honey Grove with the Rev. Barry Boulware and Rev. David Griffin officiating. Burial was in the Dodd City cemetery.
Mr. Chaney was born Nov. 13, 1901 in Windom, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Parks Chaney.
He married Miss Ruby Reynolds May 14, 1938.
He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Methodist church in Windom.
Survivors are his wife of the home in Windom; one son, Don Chaney of Greenville; one brother, Jack Chaney of Windom; one sister, Mrs. Clifford Cummins of Windom.
Pallbearers were William Chaney, Glen Cummings, Jan Cummins, Tommy Taylor, Dwayne Epperson and Earl Harris.
