Services for Grace Mae Foster, 91, were held April 8 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford, officiated by Pastor Carl Holdsworth. Interment was at Washington Cemetery, Gravity, Ia. Mrs. Foster died April 5, 1985 in Corning, Ia.
Grace Mae Foster, daughter of John and Effie Konecne was born in Taylor County, Iowa on February 4, 1894. She lived in the Gravity area all her life where she attended the public school and Oak Hill Church.
On March 19, 1927 she was united in marriage to Davis J. [ames] Foster at Bedford, Iowa and they lived in Gravity, Iowa. To this union one child was born, John Foster who now resides in Tama, Ia.
She was employed by Public Schools as a cook for many years.
She was preceded m death by her husband, her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bessie Roberts of Vancouver, Washington; her son and daughter-in-law John and Shirley of Tama, Ia; grandchildren Debra and Kriss Lightner of Lohrville, Ia., and Davis and Cathy Foster of Iowa City, Ia.; four great grandchildren, seven nephews; two nieces, and many relatives and friends.
She was a member of the Oak Hill Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and legion Auxiliary.
She was a kind and considerate mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
