Emma (Chavis) Glover Grubbs, 82, of Denmark, died March 27, 2011 at her residence.

Memorial service was held March 30 at the First Baptist Church of Denmark with the Rev. Andy Hunter officiating. Mercer Funeral Home of Denmark was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Grubbs was born Sept. 20, 1928 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Ezra Chavis and Lizzie Nedels Chavis. She was the widow of the late Asa Goldbold. She was a homemaker.

She was predeceased by two sons, Willie Frank Glover and James Artie Glover and six brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Jessie (Gloria) Glover of Denmark, Danny (Debbie) Glover of Denmark and Robert (Teresa) Glover of Bamberg; one daughter, Donna (Ted) McAlhany of Bamberg; one brother, Marion Chavis of Bamberg; and one sister, Pearl Bozard of Columbia and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
