Arthur E. Barber, son of Eli and Elizabeth Barber, was educated in district school and Pillsbury Academy, Owatonna for two years. He spent two years in Washington and Oregon as carpenter, farmed the Doncaster farm till the fall of 1913 when he bought the Neil F. Dibble farm. He moved to Granite Falls where he was manager of the shipping association many years and served on the city council.
