Lore was born in Schwalhental, East Prussia, on Feb. 3, 1936, to Gertrude Frank, and was later adopted by her father, Anton Wagner, when her mother and family moved to Nuremberg, Germany. On March 14, 1952, at age 16, she met her future husband, Donald DeCamp, at a restaurant in old town Nuremberg. They married July 24, 1954, in Nuremberg, celebrating nearly 61 years together. Lore and Don lived in Mount Vernon, Iowa, with Eldon and Rosemonde DeCamp while Lore improved her English, and started their family. Lore worked as a nurse technician at St. Luke's for many years and later at Hy-Vee on Wilson Avenue.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Gertrude Wagner of Nuremberg, Germany; D. Eldon and Rosemonde DeCamp of Cedar Rapids; aunt, Annie Meyer; and uncle, Alfred Frank of Germany.

Lore was always known for her beautiful and infectious smile, and fabulous dinner parties with her friends, as well as her wonderful cooking.
