Elmer J. Ubert, 66, 2310 Pershing, died Sunday, July 24, at St. Anthony Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1916 in Ellis County, the son of Ferdinard and Elizabeth (Glick) Ubert.

He married Helen Dinges on Oct. 26, 1957 at Hays.

He was a retired mechanic and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Sue Ellen Schmidt, Hays; three brothers, Ferdinand, Topeka, Paul, Arizona, and Herbert, Ellis; a sister, Bernadette Dreher, Topeka; a stepsister, Mary Giebler, Catherine; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
