Anna married first John Lisa. They were parents of two children born near Luze, Bohemia, a daughter who died an infant and John born July 4, 1851. When John was about two his father died.
In Dolni Ujezd, Bohemia, on May 22,1854, Anna married second to Vaclav (James) Karsky, son of Jan Karsky and Anna Saldova Karsky. They were parents of six children: Anna, Vaclav (James), Frantisek (Frank), Jozef (Joseph), Karel (Charles), and Marie, all born in Dolni Ujezd, Bohemia, Empire of Austria (now Czech Republic). With their children they also reared Anna's son, John Lisa, Jr.
Anna and James with their children made the long journey to Hamburg, Germany where in May of 1881 they boarded the ship, Sveria, and set sail for America. The ship docked in New York City in June, where they boarded a train for Missouri. They arrived in Princeton, Mercer County, Missouri in time to celebrate Independence Day 1881. They soon located on a farm in the Banner neighborhood southwest of Cainsville in Harrison County, Missouri. In 1887 they moved to Diagonal, Ringgold County, Iowa, and in 1888 back to Harrison County, Missouri. They bought a farm in the Linn neighborhood north of Banner neighborhood, not far from Cainsville, where they lived until death.
