Her mother remarried after her father's death to Pieter BARSEMA (1854 - bef. 1927), and she had four half-siblings: Nellie (c. 1891 - 1947); Sena C. (1893 - 1957); Jennie (1895 - 1973); and Peter BARSEMA, Jr. (1898 - 1978).
