I came upon this wonderful information regarding Guido of Arezzo, a Benedictine monk, and had to share it with the wonderful people who frequent this site. This tremendous gentleman invented modern musical notation (staff notation). He changed the course of musical interpretation for the entire musical world beginning with the recounting of Gregorian Chants. He is the author of Micrologus.
