Christina Moran was born to her parents Patrick Joseph Moran and Mary Fallon Moran on January 12, 1902 in Coxsackie, New York. Christina was the middle child of their five children, with Mary (Drury) and James her older siblings and Elizabeth and Rita (Snyder) her younger siblings. As the family has been told, Christina married her first huband George Kelley in 1921. They had their only child William Edward Kelley in 1922 and soon after his birth, George passed away.

Later in 1927 Christina married Joseph Edward Ryan and the family lived in both Manhattan and later on City Island. Together they had three children - Mary Elizabeth (Ross), Teresa, and Joseph Edward. Teresa died in childhood of diphtheria at the tender age of two. In 1950 when her widowed sister passed away, Christina and her husband Joseph adopted her nephew Kevin Luke Drury and raised him as their son. Christina was a devout Roman Catholic and worked for many years as a sail maker at Ratsy's on City Island.

Christina is remembered for her perseverance and for never letting the cat out of the bag. She passed away at the age of 67 from untreated breast cancer.
