Patrick Joseph Moran was born in Longford Ireland to his parents John Moran and Rebecca Hately Moran in 1873. In 1895 at the age of 23, he emigrated to the United States; Patrick married his wife Mary Fallon the following year in 1896. Initially Patrick worked for his brothers-in-law as a part maker at the Kennedy Valve company in Coxsackie, New York. The family later moved to Brooklyn, New York and Patrick returned to his original profession of carpentry and worked for a railroad company. Patrick and Mary had five children - Mary (Drury), James, Christina (Ryan), Elizabeth, and Rita (Snyder). Elizabeth passed away as a child and Rita did not have any children; however, the three eldest married and had children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In 1924 Patrick and Mary travelled to Ireland with Rita to see family that they had not seen in almost 30 years. Patrick died of endocarditis (bacterial inflamation of the heart) and pulmonary edema the following year at the age of 52.
