Ms. Betty Wilkie, age 88, of Alamo, GA passed away September 25, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA. She is survived by her daughter: Renee (John) Garrett; granddaughters: MacKinley (Landon) Powell and Madison Garrett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Buren Wilkie; parents: Lawson and Maudell Johnson Bell; brothers: Willard Bell and James Bell; and sisters: Evelyn Swinson and Carolyn Miller.

Ms. Wilkie was born July 30, 1934, in Laurens County, Georgia. She loved to travel and serve on mission trips when given the opportunity. Going on a medical mission trip to Jamaica and with President Jimmy Carter and Habitat for Humanity to Korea were two of her favorite experiences. She was a member of the Alamo First Baptist Church and a retired fifth-grade math teacher from the Wheeler County Elementary School. Ms. Wilkie loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed watching her granddaughters play softball.

Her family will be receiving friends at Towns Funeral Home Tuesday evening, September 27th, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and graveside services will be held Wednesday in the Alamo City Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.
