Henry H. Dotson was the second child and second son of David and Nancy Keisecker Dotson. He married Joannah Alexander on 17 February 1842 in Dubois Co.,IN. They became the parents of six children--Mary Jane; Sarah Ellen; David Frank; Martha Ann; Minerva; and Henry Dotson JR.
Henry H. and Joannah, along with their newborn son Henry Jr., died wi thin the year 1855. Family tradition states that she also became ill in caring for Henry and the five children ages 1 through 11. She may have died at child birth or shortly after, and newborn Henry Jr. did not survive. Henry H. was age 33 and Joannah age 36 at their deaths in 1855. The five surviving children were cared for and reared by their Dotson grandparents, David and Nancy Dotson.
