Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS on Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Friday, June 26, 2015, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM at North Riverside Baptist Church. The graveside service will follow in North Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Bro. Danny Woods will officiate the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He was retired mechanic technician from the MS National Guard. He also served his country in the US Air Force. He enjoyed playing and singing old time blue grass gospel music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by parents, Cliff and Julia Johnson Jackson; son, Ricky Jackson; daughter, Vicky Jackson; sisters, Edna Jackson Letchworth; and brothers, Edgar Jackson, Bill Jackson and Shelton Jackson.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Jean Edgens Jackson; sons, James “Jimmy” Jackson and wife Penny of Monticello, MS, and William “Billy” Jackson and wife Linda of Monticello, MS; daughters, Letitia “Sissy” Jackson of Monticello, MS, Angela “Angie” Jackson Barrett and husband Shane of Lowell, AR, and Karen Jackson Gilbert and husband Joe of Monticello, MS; brother, Harold Jackson and wife Geraldine of Arm, MS; sister, Virginia Jackson Broom of Oakvale, MS; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; great, great granddaughter, Paisley Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
