Immediate Family:
Daughter of Rev Allen Wiley, Sr.
Son of David Wiley and Jane () Wiley
and
Eve (Holtzclaw) Wiley
Daughter of Hans Jacob Holtzclaw and Catherine A (Russell) Holtzclaw
Eve Holtzclaw, the youngest daughter of Jacob Holtzclaw and his second wife, Catherine.
Joanna's father Rev Allen Wiley, Sr. served in the French and Indian War and "was a prominent early Baptist minister in Virginia, serving churches in Orange, Stafford, Frederick and Culpeper Counties. A full account of his life is given in "The Virginia Baptist Register", No. 1, 1962, published by the Virginia Baptist Historical Society."

Her mother Eve (Holtzclaw) Wiley's father Hans Jacob Holtzclaw and his first wife Anna Margarethe (Otterbach) Holtzclaw and Eve's two older half brothers Johannes Jacob Holtzclaw and Johannes"John Henry" Heinrich Holtzclaw arrived in Virginia in April 1714 and were part on the first planting of Germanna Colony in Virginia under Governor Spotswood of Virginia.

He was a school teacher, church planter, miner for silver and Iron ore, and plantation owner "Ashland Farm" which in the family since 1725 to the mid-1920's. Ashland Farm just sold in April 2015 for $2.4 million. To a private party. Recently the Holtzclaw family cemetery was found on the property.

In the end, her grandfather Hans Jacob Holtzclaw at his death had over 3,000 acres which he divided among his children and grandchildren. Her mother Eve and her father Allen got 200 acres in Bromfield Parish. It is unknown if She got any of it.

Joanne was born Culpeper, Culpeper, Virginia, United States I assume on one of the same properties her grandfather's owned.

In 1783 she married John Train. It is unknown why the marriage didn't last but in the end, they had no children from their union.

Sometime after that between 1783-1786 Joanne met William L. Lockhart. They married on November 22, 1787. Their union was blessed with seven out of eight living children. (Their first child seemed to not have made it past its first day/year Littlest Angel Lockhart), Allen Lockhart, Hiram Lockhart, Jephtha Lockhart, David Lockhart, William Lockhart
John Lockhart, Nancy (Lockhart) Aten.

We are still looking for her and William's remains I pray we find them soon. From all accounts to date they should be somewhere near Hopewell Township, Beaver, Pennsylvania, the United States where they both died.

Williams lineage goes back to as far as Lock who was given the name Lockhart from King Bruce who he carried his heart through the crusades. They never made it to Jerusalem. Sir Simon Lockhart, of Lee, founded "Craigie Symington Parish Church in 1160 AD a local landowner who owned land in both Ayrshire and Lanarkshire. It is understood that the village and parish derived its name (originally "Symonstown") from him. which still stands today. If you have ever seen Braveheart you know some of the story of how Lockhart name got its start."

The Holtzclaw goes back to Trupbach, Nassau-Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany where her grandfather is from.

The Wiley side we are still finding out about her father's family line. He was born in Germantown, Fauquier, Virginia, USA. His father David Wiley was born in Gloucestershire, England, Scotland, the United Kingdom His mother Jane () Wiley was born in Orange, Virginia, USA.

Her father Allen Wiley served in the French and Indian War and "was a prominent early Baptist minister in Virginia, serving churches in Orange, Stafford, Frederick, and Culpeper Counties in Virginia. A full account of his life is given in "The Virginia Baptist Register", No. 1, 1962, published by the Virginia Baptist Historical Society

There isn't much about her or William life other then he was a farmer and in the Revolutionary War. We still don't know how or why they ended up in Pennsylvania. Hopefully, someday we all will know more. All I know is I am proudly blessed to have their blood flowing through my veins as one of their descendants. Meanwhile will keep on digging up more info on my grandmother's side of the family.
