Angela Wynette Sowell Elliott, 56, died Thursday morning (June 18, 2015) at Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness.
She was a native of Atlanta, GA, lived her early life in Douglasville, GA, and had made her home in Hoboken for the past 15 years.
She was the daughter of the late Elmer Franklin Sowell and Dorothy Wynelle Thrift Sowell. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Lewis Sowell and an uncle, Henry "Bunky" Sowell.
She was a graduate of Douglas County High School in Douglasville and a 2006 graduate of Okefenokee Technical College. She had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Satilla Care Center for 6 years.
Her sons were her life and her nursing career was very rewarding to her and she loved her co-workers and the residents under her care. She attended Hoboken Baptist Church and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Cody Elliott (wife Macy) of Rincon, GA and Jessy Colt Elliott of Hoboken; a granddaughter, Kyra Elliott of Rincon; the father of her sons, Jackie Deen Elliott of Ironton MO; a brother, Jerry Lynn Sowell (wife Kalena) of Waycross, best friends, Pam Alexander, Nickie Ballew, and Alvin Mercer; aunts, Lucille Filippone of Newnan GA, Kathleen Stokes of Waycross, Bobbie Mealing of Brunswick, GA, Kelly Sowell of Moultrie, GA, and Deloris Sowell of Waycross; cousins Deanne Joy, Debbie Skipper, Nikki Skipper, Zona, Lisa, Wesley and Troy, and other relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday (June 27, 2015) at Music Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at Music Funeral Home.
