Ruth (Shepperd) Garner Rogers

Ruth Garner Rogers died at her home after a short illness. She was 74 years old.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.

She was survived by her husband Charlie Rogers (married September 22, 1984 in Nancy, Kentucky); her sons, Harvey C. Garner, Larry Lee Garner, and Linzie W. Garner, all of Nancy, Kentucky, and Layton B. Garner of Little Rock, Arkansas; her daughters, Ruth Marie Frye and Janice Kathleen Whitaker, both of Nancy, Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Shepperd and Grace (Barker) Shepperd; her first husband, Virgil Marion Garner (married July 11, 1931); her sons, John William Franklin Garner, Edgar Marion Garner, and Gene G. Garner; and her brother, Claude Shepperd.

Funeral services were held at Sardis United Methodist Church with Brother Ray Payne officiating.

Nancy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
