Betty J. Schneider, 84, passed from this life on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Brethren Cemetery, east of Dallas Center. Betty was born on April 23, 1931 to Elmer and Ada Chambers. On February 29, 1952, Betty was united in marriage to Charles W. Schneider and this union was blessed with four children. Betty worked with her husband at their family owned business S&J Marine in Des Moines. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children; two daughters, Vicki (Lloyd) Dannen and Pamela (Brian Jennings) Schneider-Jennings both of Urbandale; one son, Scott Schneider of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, Kara, Jacob and Lucas Dannen and Aspen, Brittany Easton (Jesse) and Madisen Jennings; three sisters, Fern Dickey, Shirley Shields and Mary Moore and a sisters, and brother in laws of many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; one son, Gregory Wayne Schneider and one granddaughter in infancy, Jennifer Dannen. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston or Unity Point Hospice.
