He married Helen G. Enns, January 10, 1926 at Inman. He had been a resident of Hutchinson since 1951, and was retired from Western Foods Co.

He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors at the time of his passing were his wife; two sons, LeRoy and Verne; daughter, Leona; three brothers, Jacob A., Edward A., and Martin A.; four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Doerksen, Mrs. Louise Pauls, Mrs. Sarah Regier and Mrs. Marie Regier; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Saturday, October 13, at Johnson and Sons Chapel with Rev. W.O. Hopper and Robert Shelton officiating. Burial was at Hoffnungsau Cemetery.

An anecdote about my Dad: Through the years, he seemed to have a hard time keeping hub caps on tires, so when one would fall off he'd have to stop the car to retrieve it. En route to the cemetery, the hearse lost a hub cap from one of its tires, and the driver had to stop to retrieve it...
