Dr. Edith Munro Bairdain of Marietta passed away Monday, June 8th. Services will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Marietta with a reception following the service at the Church. Dr. Bairdain was the first woman to graduate from Emory University with a PhD in Psychology. Her field of expertise was communications. She and her husband, Dr. Fred Bairdain through their company, Asyst, traveled the world advising the state department and Department of Defense on matters related to foreign conflicts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ernest Frederick Bairdain and her sister, Dorothy Munro Dubuc. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Munro Varner, Harriett Munro Massengale, Ann Munro Wilson and her brother, William Stanhope Munro, and many nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 161 Church Street, Marietta, GA 30060. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta will be handling the arrangements. 770-428-1511.
