Robert A. ""Bob"" Armes, 79, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Armes was born March 9, 1933 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, and had retired from the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Armes also owned and operated Lonnie's Restaurant for 15 years, and later retired from Sears Youth Center as a youth specialist. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and golfing.
On March 17, 1972, he married Marjorie M. Easley in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: Marilyn Walsh (Sean) and Pam Bishop (Fred), all of St. Louis, MO, Sue Brayden and Jonathan Armes, both of Warsaw, MO, and Mike Jones, Dennis Jones, Chelsea Birch (Tim), and Patti Armes (Joe), all of Poplar Bluff; several grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Battig, of St. Louis, MO; and brothers, Fred Armes and Tom Armes, both of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Fred Armes and Thelma McIver Armes, children, Patricia Armes and Robert J. Armes, and brothers, Jack Armes, Larry Armes and Ed Armes preceded him in death.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Rev. Austin Armes officiating.
