Funeral Rites Thursday Afternoon for Oliver Bevers, Age 69

Oliver Bevers, age sixty-nine, well known Kurtz resident, died at the home in Owen Township Tuesday. He had been ill for the past ten days since suffering a stroke. His death occurred on his birthday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon from the Kurtz Church with the Rev. Eph Scott in charge. Burial in the Kurtz Masonic Cemetery Mr. Bevers was born in Jackson County on May 14, 1881, and spent his entire life in this county. He was well known throughout this vicinity and was a farmer by occupation. He was a member of the Christian Church and of the Knights of Pythias Lodge. He was married in 1898 at Brownstown to Ellie Weddle. He is survived by seven children: Joe Bevers, of Brownstown; Lloyd Bevers, of Clearspring; Charles Bevers, of Owen Township; Ross Bevers, at home; Mrs. Dona Hanners, of Kurtz; Mrs. Mamie Fish, of Owen township and Miss Lucille Bevers at home. A brother, John Bevers, of Kurtz, and ten grandchildren also survive.
