Mr. Rosendo Gene Ramos Jr., age 56, of 207 North Avenue, Rome, died Sunday, July 17, 2005, in a local hospital.
Mr. Ramos was born on January 26, 1949, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Virginia Esquiuel LaFollette of Foster, Kentucky, and the late Rosendo Gene Ramos Sr. Mr. Ramos was a member of the Southern Magnolia Worship Center. Prior to retirement, Mr. Ramos had been an officer with the Kingston Police Department, a private detective, and a security officer. He is remembered as always helping people and was a caregiver. Mr. Ramos enjoyed fishing and being a granddad (lovingly known as G.G.). He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Phillips Ramos, on May 2, 1981; and a sister, Ana Marie Ramos.
Mr. Ramos is survived by a step-daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Dennis Allan Brown of Rome; and additional three step-daughters; four step-sons; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Aaron Ramos of Florence, Kentucky. Special Friends: Necay Howard, Hardy Finley, Ronnie Colburn Jr., and Charles Moore also survive.
Services for Mr. Ramos will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby D. Sprayberry and George Nix officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale Cemetery.
"Gene" was our dear friend. He seemed like a second father to my husband. We have really missed him.
