Stanley Cech, Jr., of Terrell, passed away surrounded by loving family on June 1, 2015. Stanley was born Oct. 2, 1935 in Terrell to Stanley, Sr. and Annie (Babovec) Cech, both of whom preceded him in death along with his step-mother, Wilma Babovec Cech, sisters: Ann Bradshaw, Martha Johnson, and infant grandsons, Taylor and Alexander Cech.

He was a lifetime resident of Terrell and graduated from Terrell High School in 1955. A man with an impeccable work ethic, Stanley worked at Howmet where his knowledge of machining was invaluable. He retired from there in 1985 after which he worked for the City of Terrell and then retired in 2000. Not only was he a man who worked hard to provide for his family, Stanley also realized the value of serving others. He was Asst. Scout Master for Troop 390, an active member where he also served as Deacon with First Christian Church and he also was the videographer for the Terrell Tigers Varsity football games 1967 to 1977 and his unwavering support of the Tigers was rivaled only by his devotion to the UT Longhorns which Stanley considered to be his team. When not involved in his career and his church activities, Stanley also enjoyed traveling with Colorado being his favorite destination. A loyal and loving man, Stanley will be missed by all who knew him.

Stanley is survived by his beloved wife, Janell Cech of Terrell; sons: Richard Cech and wife Cindy of Dallas, Lance Cech of Terrell and Guy Cech of Terrell; grandchildren: Blake Cech and wife Raleigh, Roxanne Cech-Altom and Matthew Cech; great grandchildren: Dallen and Dayton Cech as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, colleagues and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment to follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Hiram Community. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Wednesday, June 3, at the funeral home. For those wishing, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 405 Adelaide, Terrell, 75160.
