Hazel Whalen Leach, age 84, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Friday, May 29, 2015, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana. She was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Roy B. and Ella Corine Whalen. Hazel was a member of Cynthiana Christian Church. She was a farmer, housewife, mother and member of the homemakers and had worked at Production Plating.

She was preceded in death by: a grandson, Jesse Ryan Leach; and a sister, Beatrice Hughes. Survivors include: her husband, Kenneth B. Leach; a son, Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Leach; a daughter-in-law, Laura; a sister, Vivian "Pat" Hill; four grandchildren, Brittany Lee-Ann Leach Rodman, Colin Tipton, Erin Tipton and Kevin Tipton; eight great-grandchildren, Seth Tipton, Conner Tipton, Keithen Tipton, Hannah Tipton, Ibiza Pearson, Xain Tipton, Ryker Tipton and Noah Ford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Sammy Harris. Burial will follow the service at Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Leesburg Christian Church Celebrate Recovery Program, 6005 KY Highway 1842 North, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031. Pallbearers are Colin Tipton, Kevin Tipton, Keithen Tipton, Kiel Rodman, Patrick Hill and Roger Dale Fogle. Honorary pallbearers are David Hill, Shannon Collins, Dr. Henry Norfleet and Dr. Phillip Desimone.
