She was born in Candler County and lived in Savannah the past 68 years. She was a member of Parkway Church of Christ on Highway 17 and had served as manager for the Oglethorpe Hotel Laundry and Dry Cleaners, the DeSoto Hotel Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Petway Cleaners and Chambers Cleaners. She was the widow of Edward Johnson.
SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Elizabeth Miles of Savannah; a daughter, Jacquelyn M. Little of Savannah; a daughter-in-law, Grace Miles of Savannah; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Larry and Ann Johnson of Lasding, S.C.; two brothers and sister-in-law, John Bird of Kingsland and Roy and Mickey Bird of Amarillo, Texas; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
