Marjorie (Amity) Amantea, of Center Street, Taylor, died Friday at Moses Taylor Hospital.

Born in Taylor, she was daughter of the late Albert and Addie Goodwin Rose.

She attended New York schools.

She was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper by Amity Lumber, Taylor.

She was a member of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Old Forge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Amity) Amantea, in 1978, and sisters Irma Lutfey, Dorothy M. Stutzman, and Iris Olekszulin.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Amity, Taylor; a daughter, Mary Salamone, Scranton; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; half-brothers Albert Rose, Richmond, Va.; Robert Rose, Gainesville, Fla.; a half-sister, Ethel Golo, Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with the Rev. Philip T. Wanck, pastor of Brick United Methodist Church, Duryea, officiating.

Interment will be in Newton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Memorial donations may be made to the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, c/o 174 N. Main St., Old Forge, 18518.
