Linda Lou Johnston, 72, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.

Born April 4, 1943 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Leroy Hilliard and Evelyn Virginia Kearns Hilliard.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Linda was a homemaker for the first 27 years of her marriage, than started her professional career in 1990 after getting her Nursing degree from Shepherd College. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Jefferson Memorial Hospital for the next 15 years until she retired. For the last ten years she enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and husband, Bill. She also enjoyed traveling and cruising.

She is survived by four sons, William Johnston, Jr. of Harpers Ferry, WV; Jerry Johnston and wife, Tena of Charles Town, WV; Steve Johnston and wife, Sandy of Harpers Ferry, WV and Dana Johnston and wife, Vicki of Shepherdstown, WV; one sister, Kay Manor of Kearneysville, WV and many loving grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Johnston, one son, Mark Johnston, one sister, Marlene Edwards and two brothers, Donald Hilliard and William Hilliard.

The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
