Pfc. Gordon Oren Harriman, 31, died Saturday morning in the Veterans Facility at Fayetteville. Stationed at Camp Kohler Sacramento, Calif., he was on leave at his home at Japton when he became ill. He had been in the service since December 27, 1943. His death was caused by Tularemia. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Opal Spurlock Harriman; three sons, Leon, Bobby and Roger Neal; two daughters, Patsy and Linda; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harriman of Japton; two brothers, Willie, stationed with the navy at Williamsburg, Va., and Paul, with the army in New Guinea; four sisters, Hazel and Joetta, both of Fayetteville; Mrs. Lola Rogers and Helen, both of Japton.

Funeral service was conducted at the Japton church Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., by Robt. M. Reed, and a military burial was made in the Grose cemetery under the auspices of the Hayes-Smith post of the American Legion of Huntsville. Pallbearers were Ed Rogers, Herschel Harriman, Chester Ball, Claude McChristian, Loyd Glenn and Pvt. Erman Hawkins. The Bruce Brashears Undertaking Co. directed the arrangements.
