Known as "Mammy Williams" to many in the family, Lizzie (called so per her pension application) Williams was a Williams by birth as well as by marriage.

Per the 1850 Jackson Parish, Louisiana, census, she was the daughter of Martin Williams (note that she named a son James Martin) and Permelia Huddleston (note that her first daughter was named Parmelia). (See photos of Lizzie with her sisters posted here, courtesy of researcher Jean Hunter.)

Elizabeth married Lewis Williams in 1854 in Tyler County, Texas, according to her pension application. Lizzie and Lewis were enumerated in Brazos County in 1870 then in Robertson County thereafter. (An 1860 enumeration has yet to be found as of this writing.) Lewis is buried at White Rock Cemetery along with daughter Louisa.

Lizzie raised her granddaughter Ida Thomas (Massey) after Lizzie's daughter Lula died after eating a wild plant.

Children of Lizzie and Lewis buried here include James Martin, Maggie (Davis), Lewis, and Thomas.
