Jacob Rentzheimer Bachman was born December 22, 1875, in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, the son of Titus Overbeck Bachman and Mary Jane Rentzheimer Bachman. He was also the grandson of John Weaver Bachman and Ellevina Overbeck Bachman, as well as Jacob and Elizabeth Ehrhart Rentzheimer. In 1896, in Hellertown, Northampton County, he married Mary Maria Ruch, daughter of Theodore Schweitzer Ruch and Emma Elizabeth Gradwohl Ruch. They were the parents of 5 children: Marion Ruth, Clara Elizabeth, Theodore Titus, Albert Ruch and Virginia Jean Bachman. Jacob passed away October 13, 1948, and was buried in Hellertown Union Cemetery.
