Opal Brown Digby went to sleep at Daniel Health Care Complex in Fulton to wake in the presence of her loving Savior on October 2, 2005, two days short of her 90th birthday. She was born October 4, 1915, in Itawamba County to the late Nathaniel and Ida Rebecca Moore Brown. She was a life-long resident of Fulton and a member of East Fulton Baptist Church for 68 years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She continually prayed for the safety and salvation of her family. She lived to see all her children and grandchildren accept Christ as their Savior.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Grover Laird, Bro. Eugene Digby, and Bro. Dewitt Bain officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Garden.

Left to mourn her passing are her three sons, Charles Reeves and wife Shirley of Fulton; Lloyd Digby and wife Charlotte of Houston, Texas; and Gary Digby and wife Annette of Chappaqua, New York. Also left to mourn their Mamaw Digby are her seven grandchildren, Laura Daniel of Roanoke, Texas; Douglas Reeves of Orlando, Florida; Cynthia Palma, Susan DeAlmeida, Rachel Ausmus all of Houston, Texas; Jeremy Digby, and Christy Digby, both of Prairie Grove, Arkansas. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Stephen and Rebecca Daniel; Joseph and David Reeves; Arianna Palma, and Ryan DeAlmeida.

Mrs. Digby was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hollis Digby; her father, Joseph Nathaniel Brown; her mother, Ida Rebecca Moore Gray; her first husband of 9 years, Veldon Reeves; her two sisters Oral Dulaney and Joy Dulaney, and an infant daughter.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Douglas Reeves and Jeremy Digby, nephews Mark Moore, Kenny Dulaney, J.D. Wright, and friend Buddy Hood.
