Faye Masters Carey, 101, of Mackville, died Sunday June 15 2008, at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born March 29 1907 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Squire Jay and Ida Freeman Masters and was the widow of Frank Carey. She was the oldest member of the Mackville Church Of Christ and was a former employee of Medco Center.

Survivors include: two daughters, Violet Elliott of Springfield and Joyce (Karl) Kuehr of Louisville, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, four nieces and three nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Lou Carey, a son-in-law, Edward Elliott, a great grandson, Clark Elliott, a brother, Dewey Masters and five sisters, Bertha Ward, Norah McMillan, Pearl Masters, Ada Holiday and Stella Goodknow.

The funeral was held Wednesday June, 18, at the Mackville Church Of Christ with Bro. Harry Coultas, Bro. Frank Preston and Bro. Orell Overman officiating. Burial was in the Peter Cemetery, at Mackville. Pallbearers were Doug Elliott, Paul Elliott, Keith Kuehr, Bill Braden, Todd Hood, Jim Bedo and Brad Dunnagan. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Powell, Sandy Carey, Mark Moore, Richard Carey, Pete Carey, Norman Darland, Joe Settles and Steve Settles. Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
