Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home Chapel in Denton, with the Rev. John Wheless officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Surry County, a retired furniture worker and homemaker, of the Primitive Baptist faith, and the widow of Clyde G. Sumner.
Surviving are son, Troy Sumner Sr. of Lexington; daughters, Pauline Hedrick and Norma Bentley, both of Lexington; brothers, Hoston Cook of Powhatan, Va., and Layman Cook of Mount Airy; sister, Faye Tilley of Kernersville; nine half-brothers; six half-sisters; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday and other times at the residence.
