Mrs. Arrah Wanna (Winnie) Powelson, 58, of Ferndale Acres, Springfield, W.Va., died suddenly Thursday at her residence. She was the former owner and operator of Winnie’s Beauty Shop here, and had worked as a beautician for 35 years before her retirement. Mrs. Powelson was born Aug. 20, 1925 in Romney, W.Va. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Ridgeley, W.Va. Surviving are her husband, John Donald Powelson; one son, Robert M. Powelson, at home; and one sister, Mrs. Wilda Alburtis, Cumberland. The George-Upchurch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home by the Rev. Elmer T. Sprinkle. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Elk Garden, W.Va.
