BANKS, Andrew Herman Age 93, of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Born in Jackson County, Kentucky, on February 26, 1918, he was the son of the late Louis and Lou (Smith) Banks. On June 3, 1939, in Travelers Rest, Kentucky, Andrew married his wife of over 65 years, Jewell I. Smith, and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2004. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Andrew was a bus mechanic for the City of Hamilton for 39 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio. Andrew is survived by his children, 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great- great-grandchildren; brother, sister; and numerous nieces and nephews. Andrew was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, at 10am on Monday, September 12, 2011, with Pastor Steve Botts officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 3-6pm at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be given at www.webb-noonan.com
