"Margaret, daughter of Paul and Lany Staley Crim married John Passage. Among their children were George, John, Cobus and Lany. John Passage was killed at the Andrustown Massacre by the old bake oven and buried where he fell.
Margaret with two children was captured and taken to Canada. She returned ten years later and afterwards married Christopher Eckler, Sr. He was a widower and had two sons, Christopher Jr. and Daniel. Her two nieces married her husband's sons. Hannah a daughter of Adam and Christina Garnder Crim, married Christopher, Jr. and Katherine married Daniel. Mrs. Margaret Passage Eckler died at the home of Hannah and is buried in an unmarked grave on the Chyle (kyle)."
"Henry Passage and his wife Sophie Magdelena had a son John Passage born Nov. 19, 1749 whose birth is recorded in the Reformed Church Records at Albany, N.Y.
"John Passage married Margaret Crim, daughter of Paulus and Lana Stahley Crim. Among their children were a son Jacob born Feb. 24, 1778 and christened at the German Flatts Dutch Reformed Church. This Jacob was a pew holder in the Reformed Dutch Church of Columbia when it was built in 1806.

"Several of Paul von Grimm's children had wed. His daughter Margaret became the bride of George Passage.
July 18th, 1778... "Among the captives was Grimm's daughter Margaret. Her husband, George Passage, had been among the first slain...
"Then the great war drew to a close and a few of the prisoners that survived their ten years' captivity were brought back. Among the few were Mrs. Lepper, Margaret Grimm Passage, and Richard Pell..."

1778 "Suffers at German Flatts Vol 4, Pages 340-345 A return of the refugees or inhabitants of the German Flatts who were burned off and lost their effects by the enemy. All above 16 years old are allowed one pound of bread and one pound of beef and all under 16 years old half a pound of bread and a half a pound of beef per day.
